Hi, I’m James Adomako Baffour. My close friends and family call me ADOM. I am an artist/designer currently studying Interactive Media Art at the Tisch School of the Arts. I was born in Ghana and raised in between NYC, Accra, and Kumasi. I like to make things that enact the feelings, images, symbols, and sounds I grew up with. My current artistic assays attempt to detail the life of African Immigrant youth or UnAmerican American Fiends and the effects of immigration on family structures. My design and UX work is usually made for the nonwestern eye, the ones who haven’t been fed images of the American life. As the eye of the average American is changing to be more welcoming of foreign influences, it is becoming more important to have designers who boast of foreign influences. So reach out and lets work.
